Pitt and Jolie buy $40 mn Italian villa

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie buy $40 mn Italian villa near Verona, the city where William Shakespeare's tragic teenaged couple Romeo and Juliet took their lives rather than sacrifice their love for the sake of their feuding families.

The 16-room villa in the style of 16th century Venetian architect Andrea Palladian is located in the Valpolicella hills northwest of Verona, according to Italian news reports.

The Hollywood superstar couple choose the villa after looking at two other properties in the area, famous for its red marble and Amarone red wine.

Brangelina pal George Clooney has a villa on Lake Como near Milan in Italy's northwest.
